TOURS

The school is not offering tours at this time.  We are conforming to social distancing procedures to ensure the health of our pupils and staff working on campus is preserved.  

TOUR DATES FOR ADMISSIONS 2022:

  • Tours have been suspended until further notice.  This decision will be reviewed at the commencement of 2022. 

NB: COVID19 VIRUS SECURITY MEASURES RELATING TO ADMISSIONS

  • Access to the school campus is strictly prohibited
  • Prospective parents will not have access to the school campus.
  • Applications brought to school, must be placed in the Admissions Box at the front gate in Main Road during working hours viz: Mondays to Fridays between the hours of 07:00-15:30 
  • The Security Guard on duty has no authority to answer any questions relating to Admissions.
  • The Admissions information is clearly indicated in the Admissions Policy and directed on this page.
  • If you have particular concerns relating to your daughter’s application, please direct these to Gill Cook, Admissions Officer on gill@rgjs.org.za not via the school telephone.
  • Any concerns relating to your application may be directed by Gill Cook telephonically or via Google Hangouts; Zoom or Skype 
  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend Information Sessions via Google Hangouts; Zoom or Skype as directed by the Admissions Officer. 

GRADE R:

    • Please read the Admissions Policy (reviewed annually).
    • All documents and updates must be submitted to the school in original not email.
    • Incomplete applications will be held on a pending file.
    • Preference will be given to girls turning six during their Grade R year (eg: 5 years old and turning six in their Grade R year).
    • Admissions may be submitted from the month of August (+/-17 months prior to the start of their Grade R year). RGJS: APPLICATIONS FOR GRADE R 2022 ARE NOW OPEN.
    • Dates relating to the WCED 2022 Admissions process will be advertised by the WCED at the start of 2021.
    • RGJS: Application for Grade R 2021 closed at RGJS at 08:00 on the 17.3.2020

    • Handing in an application does not guarantee an Information Session
    • Information Sessions granted do not guarantee a place
    • Unsuccessful applications will remain on the waiting list but this does not guarantee acceptance.
    • Note any vacancies which occur between now and during the Grade R year will be managed on a month to month basis.

 

WCED ADMISSIONS DATES (AS DIRECTED): 

DATES FOR THE WESTERN CAPE 2021 SCHOOL ADMISSIONS PROCESS

Parents receive outcome of application by SMS or email:       12 June – 22 June 2020

Parents must confirm acceptance of offer by:   3 July 2020

If parent receives offer of place after 3 July:       within 3 days

Parents will be informed of the outcome by email or by SMS between 12 June and 22 June 2020.

If their child has been offered a place at a school in this time, parents will need to confirm their acceptance of this place by 3 July 2020. We urge parents to accept their spaces timeously, to assist us in finding spaces for unplaced learners.

Should a parent receive an offer of a place after 3 July, they need to confirm their acceptance within 3 days

 

GRADES 1-7:

  • Please read the Admissions Policy (reviewed annually).
  • RGJS process:  Application submissions for these grades are always open. 
  • WCED process:  see the deadline details in the Grade R section above.
  • All documents and updates must be submitted to the school in original (certified when required).
  • Incomplete applications will be held in pending file.
  • Once submitted, applications will be placed on the relevant application list, filed in the year of the child’s birth. 
  • Please always indicate the name of your child and year of birth when making email enquiries
  • The school is kept at capacity throughout the year.
  • Applications will be considered and vacancies replaced as and when they occur in relevant grades throughout a year.
  • Handing in an application does not guarantee an Information Session
  • Being granted an Information Sessions does not guarantee a place
  • Unsuccessful applications will remain on the waiting list but this does not guarantee acceptance.
  • Please ensure that certified copies of current reports are submitted regularly to keep the application “active”.
  • If a vacancy occurs, only “active” applications will be considered 
  • Documents required relating to an address change from that reflected on the application at the time the application was lodged must be submitted in hard copy. 
  • Shortlisted applicants will be offered Information Sessions and a final decision made.
