The school relies on and welcomes assistance from parents in many areas, depending on their availability and fields of expertise. It is common to see moms and dads sitting in spots around the school helping with paired and shared reading, before they head for work or other activities.
Others help with sorting lost property, or with administrative tasks, covering books, assisting with transport for outings, special classroom projects, lunch shop roster, and many other jobs. Those with appropriate teaching qualifications can assist with relief teaching when teachers are away.
This group assists the school in fundraising, catering etc. All parents are automatically members. Each class has a representative, chosen at the beginning of the year, to serve on the committee, and each grade has a representative on the executive committee.
The head of the PTA is a part-time member of staff, with an office in the main building.
