SAVING TREES...
...one newsletter at a time. We've been
encouraging parents to receive the weekly
newsletter by email rather than on paper. Grade
1a is the first class to have 100% of the class
on the email list, and they celebrated with a
Green Day to recognise their achievement, and
the purpose behind it. Thank you 1a girls and
parents, and Mrs Gerber!

THINKING DAY
Monday 22 February was the anniversary of the
birthday of Lord Robert Baden-Powell, founder of
the Scouts and Guides movements. Here are some
of the Rustybug members, who came to school in
their uniforms. Thank you to Mrs James for the
photo.

ECOCLUB BUILDS A SANDCASTLE
No, actually it was a sandstadium! Our Ecoclub
girls helped support Valley Pre-Primary School
by building a model of the new Cape Town
stadium. This was their first attempt at sand
sculpture of this size. The venture was
thoroughly enjoyed by the learners, and also the
parents and Mrs Davids.
GRADE R GIRLS ARE PRETTY IN PINK
Valentine's Day provided a reason to dress up,
and also to raise funds for TEARS, an animal
rescue organisation. Thank you to the Grade R
girls (and the older girls too) for helping needy animals.
SWIMMING GALA
Rustenburg invited five schools to join us in a
gala on 12 February. The girls swam very well
and it was a very successful event.

KE NAKO! TEAM 2010
Our theme for 2010 was launched at a very
special assembly, when everyone joined the
teachers in sharing in the spirit of this year.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 2010
Grades R and 1 girls show us that their first day
was lots of fun!

.SCHOOL FEES AND LEVIES AT WORK
Two large projects undertaken this year were the
paving of areas that get muddy in wet weather,
