2000 REUNION [back]

The class of 2000 enjoyed a wonderful 10 year reunion on Friday 5th November 2010. The revamped Charlie’s Hope made the perfect venue for an evening of reminiscing and catching up with old friends.
47 ladies attended and we can say much has happened in the lives of many of us over the past 10 years (careers, marriages, babies, etc.) In addition, much has happened at Rustenburg, and organisers Robyn Allan and Natalie Pollock (Le Brun) enjoyed earmarking ’10 things that had changed since 2000’. Most notably the upgrade in the Home Ec classrooms, the two bicycle sheds becoming a classroom and the Bug Boutique, and that Rustenburg now boasts a soccer field and cricket nets.
With a cocktail party providing the platform it was very special to have a large group of us gather to celebrate the good times we had at Rustenburg. The walls were decorated with our year book and our matric dance video played in the background, both these captured memories obviously fuelled lengthy and fascinating conversations.
The drinks and food went down a treat and everyone enjoyed being back on school turf all ‘grown up’. The party eventually moved from Charlie’s Hope to Oblivion where past stories were told and laughter enjoyed until who knows when?
Thanks to all who attended and especially those that timed there trip home from abroad, and others who travelled from around South Africa. We had over 50 apologies and can account that 80% of those were from ladies that are currently not in Cape Town.
Many thanks to Ms Weston and Ms Haylett who assisted us with arrangements at the school.
We look forward to catching up again in the future...
